Who we are
Jersey Rouleurs are a like-minded community of cyclists who live and ride in Jersey (Channel Islands). Race Bikes are our common passion, the Coffee, Cake and Banter turn us into a social cycling club, we are ‘The Social Side of Riding’.
Anyone can join us for a club ride, the details of our regular rides can be found here whereas some of the sporadic rides will appear on the Calendar. Our regular rides contain an element of training as we encourage everyone to get to that ‘Slightly Puffed’ feeling by the end of the ride. Our Ride Captains make sure that nobody is left behind whilst maintaining a steady pace, they offer advice and guidance to those who may be new to group riding.
It is not uncommon to find a group of Jersey Rouleurs ‘On Tour’. Sportives & Gran-Fondos give us a reasonable excuse to have a short break away over a weekend, with a bike race in the middle of it. Unlike many local races and Town Centre Criteriums, these events allow riders to ride on closed roads and choose how fast they want to ride the distance, it is possible to ‘race it’ or ‘ride it’, but that choice is down to the individual. The Gallery shows a few photos from recent events that some of us have attended.
As a club we wont get involved with cycle racing in Jersey, there are already five clubs for that, however we will never discourage anyone who rides with us from ‘having a go’ a racing. Our passion is the Race Bike, riding it at a pace to suit us and enjoying the company of those around us. We offer encouragement and guidance, can point you in the direction of coaches and trainers, tell of our experiences of different bikes and someone will always know somebody who can fix or solve a problem, not just a cycle related one. We are a Happy Bunch of Cyclists.
