Meet at 6pm, La Frégate (5:30pm at BM for coffee first) for 1.5 – 2 hours of around the rock leg stretching and intermittent sprinting. Finishing at the Boathouse, St Aubin.
Proposed route: https://www.strava.com/routes/5623835
To avoid the rush hour traffic we will first head west on the inner road and then up Waterworks Valley before taking one of the three climbs that lead onto Route de St John (Les Charrieres Nicolle / Mont Suzanne / Mont de la Bu de la rue). Now heading north we’ll take in a clockwise half lap of Les Platons before heading east past Durrell and towards St Catherine’s for a fast and flat chain gang section. At St Catherine’s we’ll head towards Gorey taking the right turn for the climb up to Ransoms, from where we’ll continue on towards Trinity and St John for some more leg stretching intervals. We’ll take the right turn at St John’s church and take in another fast north coast interval before dropping down La Barcelone, where we can again choose one of three climbs taking us to St Mary’s. Here we’ll head to St Peter’s with another flat section before the long downhill on Mont du Jubile to five mile road. Turning left we’ll take in La Pulente for the final climb of the evening. From here it’s all flat and downhill as we turn onto Route Orange and head towards St Aubin for a final downhill to the Boathouse.
Along the route there are ample opportunities to throw in a few loops (lap of Les Platons, lap of Gorey) for any extra leg stretching. There are 2 points on the route where each week we can alternate the climbs as well. Should end up at around 50-55km.
